Age of Conan Losing 63% of Servers
Following the initial merger of the Bloodspire and Hyperborea servers on January 7, the developer saw no major issues, and has now unveiled the next phase.
The mergers were announced shortly after the game's original director left due to his dissatisfaction with the project. His replacement, Craig Morrison, said the mergers would "ensure the best gameplay experience" as servers will now have more players.
In a forum post, Funcom noted its hopes to merge the European servers in one go and the US servers in another, though no timeline has been announced. The planned mergers are listed below, with the server retaining the bolded name.

Makes sense I guess.
Any MMO not doing this after an hyped release where many sign up and play and the leave is doomed. More people quit bc their servers are wastelands.
This way the remaining players get to play on populated servers.
Hey, I am trying to be optimistic here!!!-

No, far from it. The main issue with Warhammer is that it is so heavily RVR based, a substantial population imbalance between the two factions can have dire consequences on the game experience. Some realms currently sport a substantially lower population on one faction ( I.E. low order vs medium destruction during prime time), resulting in a difficult task for that faction in completing RVR goals.
The developers are aware of these problems and are making changes to Tier 4 RVR to address them (population caps during Tier 4 Keeps for attackers and defenders to start with) but they are at the moment mostly a band-aid. Their effectiveness has yet to be judged. They still have yet to address how a side with significantly lower numbers is supposed to even lock down two of the three keeps needed to siege a capitol city.
I personally enjoy the hell out of Tier 3, and not so much Tier 4. Everything up through Tier 3 is just plain fun. Tier 4 is a chore and a bore. -
