Fallout 3 Has $300 Million Launch, Ships 4.7M Units

Over 4.7 million copies of Fallout 3 have shipped worldwide since the game's debut last week, developer Bethesda announced today, explaining that the figure represents retail sales "in excess of $300 million."

While specific sales figures and a per-platform breakdown were not provided, Bethesda noted that the post-apocalyptic role-playing game saw "record sales at launch."

The game has already topped UK sales charts, with Xbox 360 release reportedly accounting for 55% of the game's week-one UK retail sales, followed by the PlayStation 3 version at 28% and the PC at 17%.

Dude, you need to do all the side quests. I've put in like 20 hours and I haven't even gotten to GNR yet.

Maybe it's because this game actually has a SOUL.

      Fallout universe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Oblivion universe

Fallout 3 has infinitely more spirit and character to it than Oblivion ever did. Fallout 3 may be a wasteland but Oblivion's green fields ring hollow in comparison.

It's a 1950's version of a post-nuclear war. Sure, now we know that life would come back pretty quickly, but back then the popular belief was that a nuclear war would result in a world of scorched desert.

god im not sure id want it to be any longer than it is... ive got at least 50 hours into it already, and im not near finishing... in fact, i couldnt finish it even if i wanted to since ive been bit by the jefferson memorial crash bug... but i dont mind a bit because ive still got at least half the map left to explore...

although i DO hope they get a patch out soon, id kinda like to advance the storyline a bit...
