With the Leipzig Games Convention now underway, developer Bethesda has hopped on the media bandwagon and provided new screenshots of its post-apocalyptic RPG.

Fallout 3 is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

Please, please Bethesda, don't let this game suck as much as Oblivion did. I beg you. I hear rumors that the world in Fallout 3 is only 1/4 the size of TES:IV. Yikes... :(

What was so wrong about Oblivion? Sure, it had some issues, but they didn't make the game "suck".

NO. The biggest problem was the PC versiom was a console port. Other then visuals Morrowind was a much better game.

The problem with Oblivion was it actively fought immersion. The gameplay itself I didn't have a problem with, but never once did I believe in the world. Every time I started getting into it the game would do something completely idiotic to remind me I was just playing a video game.

It also had a shitty story.

The biggest issue Oblivion had which sapped the fun out of the game was the auto-scaling of monsters to match your level.

As long as they nix that from Fallout 3, I am confident it will be a good time.

i wonder where you're getting your rumors from because Bethesda devs have claimed the world size has approached that of Oblivion's

I thought Oblivion was great, but this is Fallout. The constant comparisons to Oblivion are what is worrying me the most. I'm tired of hearing about it. Let's hope Fallout influenced the game more than Oblivion did.

Here are some reasons Oblivion sucked:

        1. If you're in the deepest, darkest, lowest catacombs and steal a gold coin, the police from Imperial City find you and put you under arrest.
        2. When you level up, the bandits do so with you, so you essentially have bandits with Daedric armor. Insane.
        3. The HUD and GUI are atrocious; I had to mod them just to play the game,
        4. No easy way to hot-key spells

it's goes on and on...oh and don't let me forget, in this "free world" where you can "do whatever you want" and "make choices that define your character drastically" you're essentially ONLY a good guy and the final quest can ONLY be done in a way that is good. Sigh...hence, I worry about Fallout 3.
