People looking to try out the upcoming Battlefield: Bad Company (PS3, X360) before its June 23 release will be able to do so June 5, with a single- and multiplayer demo hitting the Xbox Live Marketplace and Playstation Store that day, publisher Electronic Arts has announced.
The single-player portion of the demo puts you at the start of your 'B' company career (trailer below) and introduces you to some of the game's characters, while the multiplayer part includes the Gold Rush mode on the Oasis map. People who pre-order the game at participating retailers will recive early access to the demo.

I never understood this. If you blindly order the game, we'll give you the demo which you were supposed to use to determine if you wanted to order the game.
Its like the people on amazon.co.uk or wherever else that have already given it 5 stars because they saw a trailer. They're so sure its going to be that good that they don't even need to actually play it.
Not to defend any comments you may have read on amazon but there was a big open beta through fileplanet so it wouldn't be hard to see how people may have played it or know people that have. I am a big Battlefield fan, DICE supporter and EA critic so while I was interested I was also skeptical before I played the beta since I generally don't enjoy console FPS games. Overall its a much better game than the first BF console and I played it more than any recent game on my 360. That said It may not be $60 good but we'll see. The fully destructible environment and loads of artillery are pretty fun. I hope we see the 'Frostbite' engine on the PC eventually.
Nope, they really did give it 5 stars just from watching a trailer.
That said I'm definitely looking forward to this. Just not as much as some other people obviously!
You know, I thought the very same thing when I left GameStop without a Ratchet & Clank PS3 demo because I hadn't pre-ordered the game. Idiot logic at it's best.
