Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Sells Nearly 2 Million Copies, Ubisoft Raises Fiscal Sales Target

Publisher Ubisoft has revealed that, despite some technical complaints, it sold nearly 2 million copies of the Ubisoft Montreal-developed Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PS3, X360) to retailers since its mid-March release.

According to the company, this marks a "better than expected" performance.

Prompted by the strong sales, Ubisoft has raised its sales target for the 2007-08 fiscal year to 920 million euros (roughly $1.43 billion). Total sales for the fiscal year were previously expected to be around 875 million euros (roughly $1.36 billion).

"2008 is off to be a record year for the videogame market and our games have performed remarkably well in this context," said Ubisoft president and CEO Yves Guillemot.

LOL, nice. Personally, it's a fun series, but I don't understand why the sequel had short coming that the original did not. Honestly, path finding is horrible. I don't know how many times I had to restart because the AI squadmates all got stuck somewhere.

Really? I didn't have any trouble with that.

I've also heard mention of the big fight at the end (if you got to the end, you know the one I'm talking about) causing lots of stutter on the 360. I didn't have any problems with that either, at least on single player. When I was playing it split screen with my brother we got some, but that wasn't too surprising.
