MTV has released a rather novel tool for rhythm game fans, the Rythm Game Track Finder. It lets you search nearly all modern-era music-based games--that's PlayStation 2 and forward--for specific licensed tracks. You can browse by game, platform, or artist; incidentally the first listing in the artist category is 80s hit "Take On Me" by alphabetically abrupt artist A-Ha, available in Konami's Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA 2 (PS2) and as a master track in SCE London Studio's SingStar Pop (PS2).

Despite owning Rock Band creator and original Guitar Hero developer Harmonix, MTV seems to have no problem cataloging the work of its competitors--current Guitar Hero developer and publisher Neversoft and Activision--as well. All four Guitar Hero games are present. It even lists downloadable content.

However, MTV's game-scouring grunts have failed to completely document the wacky world of post-Dreamcast rhythm games--our ever-nerdy Chris Faylor informs me that the tracker does not include Tecmo's 2001 dance-themed game UNiSON (PS2), which features a number of licensed tracks.

There also only seven Dance Dance Revolution games listed, which strikes me as odd because I was under the impression there were four hundred Goddamn billion of those things.
