Console COD4 Multiplayer Patch Coming in December

A patch making a plethora of tweaks and changes to the online multiplayer in Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, PS3, X360) will be arriving on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in December. Infinity Ward's community relations manager made the announcement on the official Xbox forums, and the full list of changes is hosted here.

The playlist changes augment most of the gametypes with additional maps, and all playlist changes apply to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game. Xbox 360-specific patch updates include improved network performance for larger games, weapon tweaks, and additional spawn locations.

The community manager didn't list the PS3-specific patch updates. The PC version of the game has received three patches since its launch.

i really dont understand why showdown is getting a more wide spread playlist... it's really a shitty map

wetworks on the other hand (the only symetrical map in the game) is a much better map and a hell of a lot more fun.. shame we only get to see it in s&d or headquarters.

ambush in headquarters should be rather interesting..... looking forward to that.

as for oldcore, glad it's gone... absolutely no one played it.... as for free for all, not a huge fan of it... but at least the points to win was reduced, so hopefully idiots that exclaim "I HAVE A K/D OF 2.4 YOU SUCK!" will shut up since they wont be able to juice up their score in that mode.

and ill play more team hardcore now that TDM and S&D are split up... hardcore TDM was alright, but hardcore s&d was balls

ooh, mercenary TDM is a welcome addition. I don't like getting thrown into a game against an entire clan.

They should have Hardcore Mercenary TDM. I'd bust both nuts.

shipment is just kinda funny to play once every couple of weeks.

when i first played that map i used the auto shotgun, but that's the wrong way to go on that map.

just use the RPD w/ stopping power and deep impact and that's just pretty much a license to print kills.

last time i played it w/ some shackers a few days ago, i didnt even joint he game until a minute or so into it and i STILL came out with 108 kills and 40 or so deaths.... it was just airstrike after airstrike for me, i called in a helicopter 5 times on that map... had i think 8 or 9 airstrikes.... it was just fucking nuts.

people hate Wetworks (on PC atleast) because of the nade spam. Nade spam is on every map but Wetworks it is kinda harder to avoid because of the tight quarters.

I luv the map however and get pissed when people always vote to change it when it comes up. But Pipeline and Overgrown are my favorites still.

overgrown is one of my favorites too, hopefully a decent map pack will be released in the future.

the nade spam happens in EVERY map.... on wetworks it's rather easy to avoid... just wait for the other team on their first spawn to run out of nades... just dont run forward... problem solved. I almost never get caught at the start of that game from that shit. It's a lot easier to avoid the nade spam on that map than others.

im guessing you havent experienced this yet in s&d on countdown:

since you start out in the hangers on opposite ends, a smart team will ALL equip grenade launchers and just SPAM en mass the hanger on the other side.

it's quite a huge "OH SHIT" moment when you walk 10 feet forward and see no less than 6 grenade launcher trials flying through the air and taking out half or more of your team instantly.
