Plenty of bitching about the Audigy 2 introduction yesterday. Here is Creative's product page for those who are interested in the latest Sound Blaster card.

Fix the drivers that are out now, and maybe I would consider it.

I downloaded the latest drivers a couple weeks ago, and that fixed most of the problems I was having

smoy: what OS are you using? I'm still having problems with XP <-- gonna re-install everything soon though. But if that doesn't fix the problems, I'm not even considering buying Audigy2. But still... THX ;)

          Win2000, SP3
yeah, I've just got an SB Live Value, and I'm not really convinced that their new stuff is significantly better, so there's no reason for me to upgrade either

I doubt THX will mean dick. ie- blind side by side comparison, i doubt even a small percentile of shack readers would be able to pinpoint which was THX and which wasn't.

Well in a way I agree with you, and still not 100%. There is a reason why THX is seen as a "great" standard. In a cinema EVERY single aspect soundwise must be considered, for it to ace the test and be an "official" THX cinema, but in a computer/sound perspective you cannot do this. Therefore the THX aproval with Audigy2, is in my point of view a standard which tells that it is "up there" in the big league when talking able to do it good enough. Sure Lucas is getting good PR with this, but he(read: THX) also have a reputation to live up to. So all in all - I actually do think that some people will be able to tell some kind of difference. But you are right - not a lot of people can, but still enough to make such a product worthwile, which is the audience Creative is aiming for.
