XP Selling Like Waffles

Apparently the "soft" early sales of WindowsXP were not soft at all. Microsoft has announced 7 million copies sold in the first two weeks of WindowsXP. Yow. This marks the "most successful software launch ever" for the company.

Steve Gibson is the cofounder of Shacknews.com. Originally known as sCary's Quakeholio back in 1996, Steve is now President of Gearbox Publishing after selling Shacknews to GameFly in 2009.

As a point of interest, "2600" was not the actual (internal) build number of the final gold release candidate; nonetheless, for the sake of simplicity, "2600" is what MS decided to display on retail versions. You may have downloaded an iso of the pre-release 2600, which had a very small list of known bugs. Try the final release, you might be impressed.

          Mines great, thanks eDonkey 2000!
