Okay, that’s it. You’ve had it with this stupid hunk of rock that we’ve spent the past two Borderlands games exploring. We don’t blame you, neither does Gearbox. That’s why in Borderlands 3 you can travel to several other planets to explore, exterminate, and unlock new secrets.

You'll have several planets to explore in Borderlands 3.

Before you can start traveling to new planets all willy nilly, though, you’re going to need to progress through the story quite a bit. First, you need to play through the story until you reach the mission that has you fueling up the spaceship that Ellie has created for you and the Crimson Raiders. After you complete this mission, a few cutscenes will kick off another mission, and then you’re off into space. Now, to unlock new planets, you’re going to need to just keep playing through the central narrative. After a few quests, you’ll unlock the ability to travel to new places, which can be done at any time by visiting the bridge of Sanctuary, the spaceship that Ellie made.

To travel to new planets, head up to the bridge and then approach the central console. Here you can see a list of all the planets that you’ve unlocked, and you can select the one you want to travel to. This makes it very easy to hop around to the other planets in Borderlands 3. You can also use the normal fast travel method from the map to move around different planets, too!
