Crucible Glory ranks and point requirements - Destiny 2

Published , by Sam Chandler

Glory Ranks in Destiny 2 are strictly limited to Competitive Crucible. Previously, this would allow you to unlock some high-tier Pinnacle weapons. Now, it's mainly for Titles and bragging rights. If this interests you, you will need to familiarize yourself with Competitive Crucible and the Glory Ranks and point requirements.

The difficulty of this, aside from frustrating matchmaking, terrible teammates, and getting stomped by full teams, is figuring out how many points you need to level up to the next Glory rank. In the following tables, you will find the information to help you work out how many points lie between you and Fabled I, as well as how many points you can potentially earn from wins and win-streaks.

As mentioned above, you can only acquire Glory from Competitive Crucible. Do not spend your time playing Quickplay. Here are some links to the other ranking systems in Destiny 2.

Update note on July 15, 2019: The tables below have been updated after xxCH3M1STxx reached out to provide new information. You can use his Google Sheet to track your progress and warn you when the weekly reset will bump you to Fabled. Glory Points - Win Streaks and Losses

As of Season of the Splicer, Glory Ranks in Destiny 2 have been updated. While the points needed per level are unchanged, the amount of XP you earn per win, and how it increases while on a streak, has been standardized. This was highlighted in a TWAB on May 6, 2021.

Now, the Glory win streak bonus will increase by 20 points per win. This means that instead of the diminishing returns for maintaining a win streak, players will be evenly rewarded as they secure a victory.

Bungie also implemented some changes to how Glory was lost and earned in Shadowkeeps’ update 2.6.0.1:

Whenever you lose a match, your Glory streak will no longer reset, instead, the streak will be reduced by 2. This should make keeping a 5 win streak easier, as a loss will only drop you to a 3 win streak instead of resetting.

Secondly, you cannot lose Glory ranks below Fabled 1. This means if you make it to Brave 1, you will not fall back down to Guardian III if you earn consecutive losses, despite technically losing Glory. On top of this, the amount of Glory you lose takes into account your kill-death ratio and performance. The better you perform, the less Glory you will lose when you incur a loss.

Finally, your Glory rank will adjust faster depending on your skill. While there are no clear numbers here, it sounds like the better you perform, the faster you will accrue Glory.

This last point makes the following table slightly incorrect. While these are still the base values for wins, the amount you lose for losses is entirely dynamic. There are reports of players losing as little as 4 points while others lose 12, 28, and even 40. This is a drastic reduction from the 60-80 points from previous seasons.

Unfortunately, the changes with Season of the Splicer also make the following table inaccurate. Each consecutive win should increase the Glory you earn by 20 points, regardless of your Glory Rank. This means from Brave and onwards, your path to Legend is more consistent and less of a grind. This table will be updated when we're able to get solid data.

It’s currently unknown whether the following remains true as of the release of Shadowkeep. But given the changes to how Glory is lost and the bracket-loss protection, there’s not as much importance placed on these weekly bumps.

Prior to the release of Shadowkeep, players could expect the following Glory points to be awarded to them if they played at least three matches of Competitive in the week:

It's worth noting that reaching the Legend Glory Rank rewards a Powerful item from the Pinnacle tier. This should help those PVP players reach the new max Power in Destiny 2.

Quickest way to Fabled Glory Rank

Much like the previous information, the quickest way to Fabled Glory Rank has changed slightly. While you are still rewarded for consecutive wins, there’s no longer the pressure of losing Glory Ranks below Fabled 1. Keep in mind you can still lose ranks while within a bracket. For example, you can still drop from Brave III to Brave I, just not betwen major ranks.

The previous work of xxCH3M1STxx can still be applied with some accuracy. Provided the points per rank are correct, it should still only take 16 consecutive wins to reach Fabled 1. In fact, it may take fewer wins depending how the Glory adjusts to match player skill.

If you have a perfect 50-50 win-loss ratio, it should definitely take you less than 450 matches to reach Fabled this time around.

Reaching Fabled Glory Rank in Competitive Crucible is no easy task. At the moment, there is currently no reward for reaching this milestone other than bragging rights. Head over to the Shacknews Destiny 2 guide for more Crucible and Gambit breakdowns.
