Nintendo of America has appointed a new executive vice president of Sales & Marketing, Scott Moffitt, effective starting today. Moffitt's background includes 20 years of marketing experience, including spearheading Mountain Dew Code Red and AMP for PepsiCo. Most recently, he worked for Henkel Consumer Goods as senior vice president of the Personal Care division, which includes brands like Dial and Right Guard.
"Scott Moffitt makes a marvelous addition to the Nintendo team," said NOA president Fils-Aime in the announcement. "His expertise in driving growth will be a terrific asset as we build momentum for the Nintendo 3DS system and continue to reach new audiences for the Wii console." Read more »

PC classic and early BioWare relic MDK2 hits the Nintendo downloads today, as a WiiWare release. The third-person shooter uses clever writing and inventive weaponry to guide you through the game. If you haven't played it before, now is your chance to do it relatively cheaply at $10 (1,000 points).
DSiWare brings Mighty Milky Way, a quirky puzzle game starring an little alien named Luna and her arch-nemesis, a socially awkward T-Rex. The game is made by WayForward, the studio behind retro-flavored titles like Contra 4 and A Boy and His Blob, so it may be worth looking into. It can be had for $8 (800 points). Read more »

The DS Lite could be fading into that hardware manufacturing plant in the sky. Go Nintendo reports that the system is being discontinued, according to a memo sent to GameStop stores.
New DS Lite systems have been discontinued and stores will no longer be replenished on this product. Once your store sells through its current stock of these units, please remove any corresponding DS Lite (Crimson, Black, and Metallic Rose) display boxes from the sales floor and discard.
