That being said, the new ads are bullshit. Moreover, nuking threads about the ads is even worse. geedeck asked me to direct my questions to staff instead of "randomly" posting about it here. When did discussing Shack policy become random, let alone nukable? The whole point of my question earlier was to see if anyone else here felt the same way. I don't want some mod's response repeating what GameFly's offical line. I want to see what posters think. Maybe I'm overreacting but I was one of the people that scoffed at the notion that Steve's sale of the Shack would change anything here. Maybe I was wrong.

I'm not saying we're entitled to discuss moderation. I just think giving the mods unlimited power and making all decisions private is unwise in the grand scheme of the site. Obviously corruption is too strong a word since they don't have any real power, but the idea is still sound. When people are given full privacy and unlimited power (within a domain) abuses inevitably happen (and I'm not saying that's what's happening in this case at all).
more difficult:
The fact that it's a difficult job has no bearing on anything we're discussing and is right up there with "I bet you can't do it!" as dumb arguments go. Just because something is hard doesn't mean it's an excuse to do it poorly (that said I think the mods do a relatively good job all things considered).
Customer service reps:
I know. I just said that.
