Report: Elder Scrolls MMO announcement coming in May
by John Keefer, Mar 16, 2012 6:45am PDTOver the years, there has been lots of speculation about a massively multiplayer online game set in the Elder Scrolls universe. A new report has surfaced claiming the project will be announced in May.
Citing three unnamed sources, Tom's Guide reports that Elder Scrolls Online will take place in the Second Era, or a full millennium before the events of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The report also said there will be three factions, represented by a lion, a dragon, and some sort of bird of prey.
Attempts to reach Bethesda for comment went unanswered.
It has been a poorly kept secret that Bethesda and ZeniMax were working on an MMO, as they have had numerous job postings on their site looking for MMO developer talent. A Fallout MMO was hoped, but the company only recently acquired the rights to an MMO back from Interplay.
