BioWare hiring for Dragon Age 3

A BioWare senior staff member has announced they are hiring for Dragon Age 3, marking the first official confirmation of development on the game.

Though not exactly surprising, BioWare has (indirectly) confirmed that it's working on Dragon Age 3. A tweet from BioWare senior director of creative development Alistair McNally (via IGN) reads, "I'm looking for exceptional environment artists to join me at #BioWare Edmonton, Canada to work on #DragonAge3 #gamejobs #jobs #3D #artists."

Both EA and BioWare have put marketing and development muscle behind the Dragon Age franchise, pushing out two games and a large-scale expansion in under two years. This is the first we're hearing of the third game, so it's hard to tell if it will keep pace with its predecessors or settle on a longer development cycle. Either way, both of the main-series games have ended on cliffhangers, so maybe this title will wrap up some of the loose ends.

doubtful, and if so, it'll feel gimmicky probably. I'm glad i got to play DA:O all the way through and enjoy it, but #2 was a train wreck (for me), and auto blacklisting #3 probably

Considering the incredible backlash I'm not sure what's doubtful about it.

Sweet, I was hoping we would get another gay sex simulator. ;)

" looking for exceptional environment artists" - They could have used them for DA2. The recycled encounter locations knocked Bioware down a peg in my eyes. Never will I blindly pre-order a game again.

They just posted a nice article, that doesn't mean they want a gay pass.

After DA2 you would guess they do need environment artists.

That one guy copying and pasting just got some colleagues!

Bioware, go play Witcher 2 to see how a real RPG is done.

        Bioware doesn't make RPG's anymore..

This is true :( Mass Effect is a 3rd person action/adventure, and DA2 is more action RPG-lite. DAO was the last and probably final really RPGish game they will ever make IMO.

Their SVP of marketing should be an iPad on a pedestal perched on a mahogany desk, forever looping the "THIS IS THE NEW SHEEEIT!" Dragon age 1 trailer.

I wish they would hire some gay writers who are actually happy and fine being gay rather than a bunch of fanfiction deviantartist who get off on watching cloud and sephiroth share a bath together.

Hopefully they learned enough from the 2nd one and won't repeat the mistakes. I would think Bioware is a successful enough company to spend extra time on the games. Also I don't believe Dragon Age 2 is going to hit the same sales numbers as Dragon Age 1 despite the much bigger launch for 2.

They need to sack the level designer responsible for D2. That level design was something out of a modification.

DA2 really hurt my faith in Bioware. Still, I have loved all of the Mass Effect series so far, and I'm hoping that the third one will blow me away. As for DA3, I'll wait for the demo.

in DA3 they will situate the camera even closer to the ground and if you attempt to use the mouse with the PC port the game will bluescreen
