Dreamcast Games Coming to PS3, Xbox 360

Following numerous rumors and a leaked internal document, SEGA today confirmed that it will be bringing "classic titles from its popular Dreamcast console" to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Arcade downloads.

"Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi will be the first two classics made available," the company says, "with Sonic leading the pack in Fall 2010 for the 11th anniversary of the launch of the Dreamcast in the United States." According to the Sega PressVault, both titles are due to arrive in Q3 2010, so between July 1 and September 30, 2010. Read more »

Scott Pilgrim Video Game Details Emerge

Ubisoft's comic and movie-inspired video game Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a downloadable side-scrolling beat 'em up, Game Informer reveals, coming to the PlayStation 3 in August and then Xbox 360 sometime later.

Supporting up to four offline players, the game follows the events of the tongue-in-cheek comic and (presumably) the upcoming film, with Game Informer writing that "the levels follow along with the book volumes, as world three takes place inside the club where our heroes take on rival band The Clash at Demonhead just like in [book three]." Shack PSA: Sam & Max $10 Off on PlayStation 3

The amusing adventures and antics of Sam & Max are a little bit cheaper than they used to be, as developer Telltale Games has temporarily marked Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse down to $24.99 in the PlayStation 3's online PlayStation Store.

Regularly $34.99, The Devil's Playhouse marks the duo's first PlayStation 3 outing and is comprised of five episodes. Of those five, the first two--The Penal Zone and The Tomb of Sammun-Mak--are already out, with the remaining downloads due monthly. Read more »

Contra Spiritual Sequel 'Hard Corps' Unveiled

A spiritual sequel to Konami's 1994 run-and-gun shooter Contra: Hard Corps is being developed by Guilty Gear and BlazBlue maker Arc System Works, IGN has revealed.

Coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in downloadable form, the action game--dubbed Hard Corps, Uprising-- is described by Konami as an "homage to legacy Konami run-and-gun platformers." Read more »

Skate 3 'Maloof Money' DLC Due Tuesday

The first piece of downloadable content to bring more land into Skate 3 will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 8 in the form of the "The Maloof Money Cup 2010 NYC Pack," publisher Electronic Arts announced this morning.

Priced at 400 Microsoft Points / $5, the add-on brings a new "street park" built upon the site of 1964 World's Fair and enables buyers to compete in the titular Money Cup competition as well as earn "an additional 100 achievement points and 5 trophies." Read more »

Free Red Dead Redemption Co-Op DLC Due June 22

The free "Outlaws To The End Co-Op Mission Pack" downloadable content add-on for Rockstar's recently-released open-world western Red Dead Redemption will hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on June 22, the developer announced today .

"Up to four players can team up together online to experience these thrilling new missions, full of intense shoot-outs and strategic cooperative play," the company said, promising "six brand-new co-op missions... new co-op challenges, bonus multiplayer XP rewards, and extra opportunities to unlock additional Achievements and Trophies." LEGO Harry Potter Demo Due on Xbox 360 Monday, PlayStation 3 and PC Later

A downloadable sample of TT Games' magical block-buster LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be available on Xbox 360 this Monday, June 7, publisher Warner Bros. announced today.

PC and PlayStation 3 demos are also coming, though they won't arrive until "late June."

Alongside word of the demo, Warner Bros. also confirmed that the game itself--coming to PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP--will ship out to North American retailers on June 29, with those in Europe getting it a few days earlier on June 25.

Blade Kitten Releasing in September

Krome Studios' comic-inspired brawler Blade Kitten will be released on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a digital download in September 2010, publisher Atari announced today.

A prequel to Steve Stamatiadis's web comic series, "the pick-up-and-play arcade action" game tells the tale of bounty hunter Kit Ballard.

Stamatiadis also created TY the Tasmanian Tiger, a series Krome developed years ago, with its recent efforts including Game Room and Star Wars: Republic Heroes.

Planet MiniGolf Arrives on PlayStation 3 Tuesday

ZEN Studios' downloadable mini-golf game Planet MiniGolf will be released through the PlayStation 3's online store next Tuesday, June 1, the developer announced today.

Priced at $9.99, the game is built upon the "acclaimed ball physics engine" of ZEN Pinball, packing well over one hundred holes across its single-player campaign and multiplayer modes plus a course editor and the ability to share created courses online. Read more »

Lost Planet 2 Gets More DLC Maps Next Week

Another batch of downloadable multiplayer maps are on their way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions of Lost Planet 2 next week, publisher Capcom has revealed.

HBO Shows Available Now on Sony's PSN Video Store

Rock Band DLC: Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill

Metalhead-favourite Pantera's 1996 album 'The Great Southern Trendkill' will be released as Rock Band downloadable content next week, Harmonix has announced, complete except for the cheery track 'Suicide Note Pt. I.'

The tracks will hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii on May 25, costing $2 (160 Microsoft Points, 200 Wii Points) each or available in a $16 (1280 MS Point) pack on PS3 and 360. Read more »
