Persona 3: The Movie coming to the US in May

Persona 3: The Movie is coming to the US. The first movie, The Spring of Birth, will be available on Blu-ray on May 20th. Based on Persona 3, the film tells the story of Gekkoukan High School students that joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES) on a goal to rid the world of Shadows that haunt humanity during the Dark Hour--a hidden period of time between one day and the next.

Described as an "Import" release, the Blu-ray will offer English subtitles for the film, but won't include a dub or any language options for any of the special features.

Persona 4 coming to PS3 on April 8

One of the most beloved games from the two generations ago is Persona 4. It'll return as a "PS2 Classic" downloadable for PS3 consoles on April 8th, Atlus has confirmed. The iconic JRPG has players joining a high school in a small town in the Japanese countryside. Along with other students, players will investigate mysterious murders involving "Persona."

Persona 5 coming to America in 2015

Atlus USA has finally announced a North American release for Persona 5, alongside a variety of spin-offs. The US release will trail the Japanese release by a few months. It'll be available on PS3 in 2015. The announcement shares no new details regarding the JRPG sequel, but an updated English language trailer reveals that the publisher is anticipating an M rating for the game.

Dancing All Night: Why Atlus is making a Persona music game for Vita

Late last year, Atlus announced a number of Persona games, including the long-awaited Persona 5. However, one game caught gamers off guard. Persona 4: Dancing All Night is a rhythm spin-off game for Vita starring Rise from Persona 4. And many gamers are probably asking why?

Persona series producer Katsura Hashino explained that Dancing All Night serves as an opportunity to highlight the work of composer Shoji Meguro. "It's actually similar to how Persona 4 Arena was created. We had wanted to bring Shigenori Soejima's character art to life by way of a fighting game and this time we thought it would be nice if Shoji Meguro's music had its turn in the spotlight as the basis for a game."

Persona 5 and various Persona spin-offs announced

Atlus has announced a handful of Persona games, headlined by Persona 5. The PlayStation 3 exclusive will be out in Japan by the end of 2014. No North American plans have been announced yet, and all we know of the game so far comes from a short teaser-trailer.

Persona 4 Arena follow-up adds two new characters

Pretty much every fighting game gets an updated redux edition down the line. And every Persona game gets an update as well. So, what happens when there's a Persona fight game? You guessed it.

A follow-up to Persona 4 Arena has been announced. The sequel-of-sorts will add two additional fighters: Yukari and Junpei, both from Persona 3. They'll feature updated designs to reflect the time gap between Persona 3 and 4.

Persona 4: Golden coming to Vita on November 20

Persona 4 was beloved by fans and critics alike when it originally released on PS2 in 2008. The Vita is getting an enhanced port, which will be available on November 20th.

The "Golden" version of Persona 4 adds a new character, new events, new anime cutscenes, and updated graphics. All in all, it promises "over 100 hours" of gameplay. It's also portable, which is pretty nifty.

PlayStation 3 has been the import gamer's console of choice this generation, thanks to its lack of region-free games. Whether you're a US gamer looking to play Japanese games, or a gamer that owns a snazzy Japan-only special edition console, you knew that any game from any region would play in your system.

Of course, someone had to screw that up. Surprisingly, it's Atlus. Persona 4 Arena is the first region-locked game on the console.

Persona 4 Arena lashes out in August

A fighting game is far from the most obvious tie-in to make for Atlus' Persona RPG series, but with BlazBlue developer Arc System Works at the helm, Persona 4 Arena may turn out to be quite interesting indeed. Atlus announced today that it'll launch for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 7, and confirmed it'll boast both Japanese and English voiceover options.

For those who missed Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 on the PlayStation 2, or those who simply fancy playing the RPG again, Atlus has confirmed that Persona 4 Golden will come to North American Vitas this fall. It was expected that the the jazzed-up port would come to North America when it was announced for Japan back in August 2011, but hey! Facts!

Persona 4 Arena coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 this Summer

The Persona 4 fighting game is coming to the US. Titled Persona 4 Arena for its North American release, the hand-drawn 2D fighting game features characters from Persona 3 and 4, and makes them pummel each other relentlessly. While the game may be published by Atlus, Arena is developed by Arc System Works, developers behind the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear franchises.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will include enhancements over the Japanese arcade original, such as a "full Story mode" and online multiplayer.
