I see what you are trying to say, but you are framing it in a certain way to try and prove your point. The situation could just as easily be framed other ways (small town boy fights evil dictator for freedom), and no matter what you do to frame it, you still have a story that is completely based around a society that is far more scientifically advanced then our own. That makes it "science" fiction. That there are "fantasy" elements is true...but the only real fantasy element is in the supernaturalness of The Force. While the force is important to the story, it is not the main point. Hence why the movie is primarily, and firstly, a science fiction story.
