I get the feeling some people are taking some kind of offense at the notion SW isn't Sci FI. Its not a criticism its just an observation that, some people believe Sci Fi is essentially thematicly based rather than anything to do with a setting... Children of Men is a good example of this, as it feels so firmly rooted in the modern world rather than some far flung setting. This is where most of its power comes from i suppose, but would anyone argue it isnt Sci Fi because it doesn't have robots and space ships? Of course not.
Its a matter of examining what a film is about rather than going on your first glance. But its always going to be impossible to prove any particular point, because everyone is pretty divided when it comes to 'genres'
