We've finally got a professionally employed English caster. GOMTV is currently running the GOMTV Star Invitational, with sixteen of the best or most influential Starcraft players. On top of that, they are broadcasting a separate ENGLISH stream online with the hopes of capitalizing on the foreign market. Tasteless (the commentator who has done Blizzcon, WWI, and WCG) will be doing solo commentary for the entire tournament, and is in the talks to begin commentating on further tournaments.
I'm posting this hear because GOM is gauging their future actions based on the response and traffic that this project generates from foreign sources. I know some people enjoy casually watching Starcraft, and this is fairly easy way to watch professional games with english commentary.

Let me be devil's advocate for a bit. I'm not at all saying you're wrong, and I'm not even a Starcraft player myself. Just someone who's observed a lot of transitions from a popular game to its sequel.
For any change in the sequel, it's obvious to an experienced player whether that change would be bad or good if applied to the original game. This is slightly different from knowing whether it is bad or good in the sequel, and even further away of knowing whether it might have some other positive effects in the sequel that on the whole outweigh its negative effects. This is even true after the "leet" players have had their hands on the new game for a while... I actually wouldn't be surprised if players who are the most in tune with the original game have a bit of a handicap when it comes to fully grokking the sequel.
After the new game has been out for a year or so, there will usually be a sizable crowd of excellent players who are fully convinced that it is better than the original. These aren't usually the same players who were originally griping about it -- i.e. you usually don't see too many "converts" -- but at that point it's hard to say that all the new guys must be wrong and the old guys right, because this is such a common pattern.
It could just be that sequels really are always worse than the original, and so the new guys are actually wrong. I'm not being completely facetious... I think a good sequel is tough to pull off for several reasons. But it does seem like much of the gloom and doom from competitive players of the original game is overblown in hindsight.
That's probably not much comfort though if what you're really wanting is for the original competitive scene to transfer over intact. I would bet against that.
