We've finally got a professionally employed English caster. GOMTV is currently running the GOMTV Star Invitational, with sixteen of the best or most influential Starcraft players. On top of that, they are broadcasting a separate ENGLISH stream online with the hopes of capitalizing on the foreign market. Tasteless (the commentator who has done Blizzcon, WWI, and WCG) will be doing solo commentary for the entire tournament, and is in the talks to begin commentating on further tournaments.
I'm posting this hear because GOM is gauging their future actions based on the response and traffic that this project generates from foreign sources. I know some people enjoy casually watching Starcraft, and this is fairly easy way to watch professional games with english commentary.

- You want to be able to play any of the races and have a fair chance
- Within those races you want to be able to play each matchup differently
- Within those matchups you want different strategies and build orders that are viable
- Within those strategies you want different styles (multitask-heavy, macro-heavy, micro-heavy) to be viable
So MBS basically affects the fourth level of balance, which isn't too much of a big deal in the grand scheme. The concern is that it's taking skill and diversity out of the game and not replacing it with anything.
I haven't played SC2, but top foreigners (by the way, foreigner in Starcraft is non-Korean) played it at Blizzcon, every one of them going undefeated, and they said this is an issure. Of course it's an old build, but there is some evidence at least to back up this claim. Members of the balance team were amazed how quickly they maxed and how quickly they played, which is leading me to believe they aren't designing for top level balance.
I'm willing to embrace change. In the end I want the game to be balanced as much as possible at the highest levels, even if that makes it more difficult for newbs and myself to play.
