Destiny 'loot cave' offers endless loot drops

If you've been needing some epic loot in Destiny, you can visit the legendary "loot cave."

Guardians who have been looking to pick up some epic loot in Destiny have been heading to a location within the Cosmodrome area to reap the rewards from what players have dubbed the “Loot Cave.”

If you have yet to stumble onto the loot cave, a new video published by Force Strategy Gaming shows just how easy it is to not only gain access to the cave, but how exactly you can sit back and let the loot come rolling in. One thing you’ll have to remember is you’ll need at least one other player in the area in order to take advantage of the cave’s endless loot. As long as there are other players within the area, and we’re sure there will be another Guardian for quite some time, then you can kill an endless wave of acolytes and thralls.

Once they’re defeated, you’ll be rewarded with various gear, blue engrams and even some purple ones if you’re lucky. So what are you waiting for? Fire up Destiny and get as much loot as your Guardian can physically carry before everyone else does.

This is also a good way to power level lower level characters as you get XP for everyone's kills in the area too. Pretty much just stand there and you'll go up a level or two.

There's a door just left of the slab that will sometimes spawn out a pile of yellow named mobs. They gave the group there a run for the money yesterday afternoon.

Yea I think it's actually a Hive vs Fallen fight and shit streams from both sides and you get caught in the middle. It's pretty nice to have that and the Warsat event to mix things up.

Haha I had that happen 5 minutes after I got there, it was so chaotic I was convinced Bungie's patched it in as an answer to people camping that cave.

It's been around for a while, I don't think it's going to suddenly disappear today. There is nothing that abusive about it, there are a ton of spots in the game where you can farm... this is just the best and most popular one.

I don't think they will remove it. But I do think they will reduce the spawn timer to like 20-30 seconds which will effectively kill the spot.

I think the general idea here is nice but this article is basically just a link to a YouTube video with no meat that makes it even worth posting an article about. Why not throw together a full article about a bunch of the best farming spots in Destiny or something actually unique/useful that isn't just leeching off the work someone else did to create that video?

I was farming this by myself Friday night and out nowhere a shit ton of hallowed knights and wizards spawned (along with thrall and other minions). I was level 18 so I thought I wouldn't have any trouble but they stuck it to me and killed me a few times. Then it just ended after about 5 minutes or so. Haven't seen that happen since and farmer again Saturday night.

That sounds epic! I've been working on reviews, but the first chance I get, I'm going to be praying I don't get to the cave during one of the times when a ton of enemies come out.

Yeah, I think it was Fallen and Hive because they were actually fighting each other. I thought I could take out some while hiding. Nope. They all concentrated on me! After they would kill me or I ran far enough away to regen my health, they would go back to fighting each other.

The best part about that fight is chaining supers inside the spawn room.

Can't say I found good drops but all those engrams leveled up my Cryptarch and you can get some nice goodies in the mail from doing that. Got an exotic and purple sniper rifle and a purple armor piece so the effort wasn't bad. Plus a guaranteed public event every 30 minutes for a quick 4 vanguard marks and easy access to two patrols.

Better yet, the local public events take place every 30 minutes at :00 and :30. There's another public event that takes place on Earth at :15 and :45 at The Divide. So I just hit the Skywatch Casino for 10-12 minutes at a time, do the 2 local events and fly off to do the other two (which go really quickly) and then get to farm engrams and get 16 Vanguard marks/hour.

Crap I need to try this again. I must have been late to the Divide so I missed the event whenever I swung past it.

I tried it out. Seems good if you just hit level 20 and are looking to get everything up to your level, but if you're expecting it to be raining legendaries you're gonna be disappointed.

I've had much better luck and more fun doing strikes, even if they are repetitive. Less repetitive than standing in one spot shooting into a cave. I got my first exotic last night doing level 24 strikes, a rocket launcher called "The Truth". Would have preferred a piece of armor or a primary weapon but I can't complain.

I think the most beneficial thing you get out of farming the cave or any other spot like that is that it levels up the Cryptarch pretty fast and leveling him DOES get you legendary engrams. So far he's given me three as rewards for leveling him and one did resolve to a purple heavy weapon.

Yeah, I typically only farm when I'm out of bounties, daily strike missions and don't have any friends on to do other stuff with. Still, I'm out there about an hour a day.

Are all of the drops available to everybody there? Like if I pop off a thrall and a Blue thing comes out, can each of us there run in and get that one? Or is it only the first person to get in there?

Loot is instanced seperately per player, blues and up you don't even need to collect. They'll show up in your lost+found at the postmaster.
