Rockstar 'aware' gamers want Red Dead Redemption on PC
by Xav de Matos, Oct 05, 2011 1:30pm PDTWithout fail, whenever Shacknews writes a story about Red Dead Redemption, commenters ask when Rockstar's latest western will be coming to PC. Though Rockstar is bringing titles like L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 to the platform, gamers still clamor for the chance to step into John Marston's spurs on their personal computers.
"Of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it," Rockstar wrote in an 'Asked & Answered' post on the company's blog. Unfortunately for PC fans, it still doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon.
"All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform)--we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms," the post reveals.
Rockstar says it hopes that its announcement of L.A. Noire coming to PC, as well as past titles like Grand Theft Auto IV and its expansions and the upcoming Max Payne 3 all hitting PC can "finally" puts to rest any "misconceptions" that the company has "abandoned" the PC platform. "We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans--that game of course being Red Dead Redemption," the lengthy post, which responds to fan inquires, admitted.
"To PC gamers, we hope that between the Grand Theft Auto titles, and the forthcoming L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3, you’ll have plenty of great Rockstar action to enjoy." We feel confident that, in response, most PC gamers will only have one thing to add: when is Red Dead Redemption coming to the PC?

Rockstar heard you wanted Red Dead Redemption on PC and had something to say about it happening. In short, they're aware you want it, but they aren't announcing anything.
