Tomorrow we'll probably do a discussion thread for the game, but keep spoilers tagged, please. For anyone picking up the Collector's Edition, be warned that the art book supposedly contains story spoilers.

Yeah I am pretty sure they both have turned it into a full time job. They are consistent and are constantly updating content. I am not faulting them for that, I just wish Day9 was more successful for what he does. I think he missed the YouTube boat and doesn't realize the money he can make from it :(

They just got in on another deal with The Game Station channel. YouTube partnerships can make good money if you spit out content like crazy (which they do). They get 100k+ views on almost all of their videos they upload within hours. It's insane how popular they are. I have to give them credit though, they do upload a lot of stuff.
Husky just doesn't know when to cut a video off. He loves hearing himself talk and will make sure to upload a 10 minute video on Blizzard updating a website.
I'll stop hating now

I ask because we used to play it A LOT on Lan, specially the wife and me... and no other game on the genre has satisfied us the way Starcraft did. We are looking forward to replay the experience on our Macs (we dont have PC boxes anymore) but I want to see the reaction. I guess it has to rock after all this development time...

I think the modern shooters are moving towards becoming much more spectator friendly, so I agree.
However, strategy games I think are the way to go as far as mainstream spectator sports. They are quick to explain, and if you have someone half as good as Tasteless doing commentary, much of what is happening can be explained quickly and in an entertaining way.
It's like how I really like American Football, but I hate the NFL. They have turned football into something that I don't want to sit down and watch, and that is sad. =(

I loved the CPL. Volunteered for many many events. Got to know all of the organizers and worked with vendors and sponsors and generally had the best time of my life whenever an event was thrown.
However, outside of maybe two or three spots on ESPN over the years, their mainstream exposure was nonexistent.
I've been waiting for years for someone to fill the void. MLG is trying, but they aren't filling venues and they aren't getting enough of a following outside the community. I go to Quakecon every year, and the bigger it gets the more convinced I am that we are close to critical mass.
We've needed a solid, fun to watch, prolific game and I really hope SC2 is the one.-

He was extremely protective of the brand. He was convinced that it was solid gold and he was going to be the next fucking Don King or something.
The story I heard was that some foreign investor dumped an insane amount of money into the project and then some personal disagreement caused the entire operation to fall apart. One month I was getting ready for the next event, next thing I know the CPL is dead, and that's the last I heard of a lot of really awesome people.
We tried in 2008 with ROGcon here in Dallas. ASUS is a wonderful sponsor, but I think the event was largely a bust because there was no major pull. It was thrown together last minute, and I don't think another one is going to happen anytime soon. -
For what it's worth, my Counterstrike team never had any problems with prize money. I do remember some controversy with Angel years ago, but I have nothing but positive memories of competing in the CPL. It's a shame it's gone (though I wouldn't be participating anymore either way - having a life is nice too!).

I think anyone who did business with him would agree. There were longstanding complaints from clans and people that were involved with the competitions and such. I never got involved in anything relating to business or money, and I think that's why my view of him is generally positive.
When I stopped playing competitively ~2001-2002 I took a back seat to all that and focused on security and general operations.

Man this game will sell crazy and I'm happy for Blizzard.
I pre-ordered in March, I was 460th pre-order in this single store. The only reason I pre-ordered was to get the Collector's Edition. When I went this morning to pick up my game, most of the people weren't even the pre-order guys just people who rocked up on the day. -

The following problems have occurred:
•The authentication key you entered cannot be claimed. Please try again. Alternatively, click here then browse to a game dashboard and click “Enter CD Key†to try this key for a different region, or try this process again for a different Battle.net account.
That is what I am getting even removed authenticator and still same thing. -
