A few months ago our fellow Shacker sent out a distress signal: http://www.shacknews.com/laryn.x?id=16574728
How could I not offer my brother my spare 7900GS KO eVGA that was leftover after stepping up to a 8800GT!!! So, without hesitation I sent him the card. To which he declared,"YIPPEE!!"
Well he sent me a thank you gift. I got it a couple of weeks ago, but didn't want to put it up until I had done it justice. My friend, my Shacker, my lover of my soul sent me a paint that he made just for me! He named it "Screaming Peters", my mom affectionately calls it the "LARGE PENIS PAINTING"
So, for you all to enjoy here is a pic of my painting!

Gabe Newell’s reason for this meeting is to respond to the increasing claims that the PC is dead.
If you remember that interview with Doug Lombardi last week he was basically saying PC gaming doesn't have anyone to speak for it in the same way the consoles do. I guess valve is stepping up to the plate?

What motherboard do you recommend? I'm leaning toward the Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128082 ) but I would like to hear some suggestions/personal experiences concerning this or other E8400 motherboards before I pull the trigger.
P.S. Boards that are already 45nm compatible are a plus over those you need to flash.

Now, not only can everyone access everyone elses stuff, we can watch it on the hdtv in the living room easily. Now when someone buys a new album or film it can be ripped straight to the PCH and everyone can see it. No more worrying about merging media collections. I have no idea why I didn't do this long ago but it feels great now that I have.

A video that purportedly shows a living, breathing space alien will be shown to the news media Friday in Denver.
...
"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.
I can't wait to see this video today. Guaranteed LOLs

It feels nothing like starwars. Ok maybe something like the prequals, but they suck and why would i want to be a jedi when every second alien is a jedi? The combat is horrible horrible horrible. What the hell is the point to turn based combat? Jedi Knight is far more entertaining and exciting in this respect and adds alot more replayablity with you being able to take on levels differently each time you play through.
I dont care what NPCs have to say or what issues they have with the hidden beks or some random group of baddies standing out in a field for some reason. The major storyline was interesting, but not enough to make me want to keep playing.
I just dont get why this game is loved by so many. Have you guys not played JK or JK2? There are better starwars games out there (tie fighter, x-wing, rebellion, rebel assault, dark forces, jk, republic commando etc. etc). And there are better RPGs out there (hell i enjoyed arx fatalis more).
And the reason i bring up JK so much is because i see them as basically the same thing, or atleast KOTOR with the potential to be more like JK. Why couldn't it have been an RPG with real time combat that was fun? making me actually block and wield my lightsaber with skill rather than clicking "attack" or "power blast".
/end rant

A Brazilian-Peruvian tribe, unchanged in 10,000 years and uncontacted by the outside world, is photographed from the air

An incredible opportunity to look back in time. It's crazy to think that had these images been recorded thousands of years ago, they would look exactly the same. Very cool.

ps ps - there were almost as many men as women in the audience (gay dudes and/or the significant others to the ladies). It was an 11pm show on a Thursday night and it was sold out along with the three screenings in front of it. Like it or not, dudes, this flick is gonna make bank.
