    OKTA breached !! 🐳

    > adversarial activity that leveraged access to a stolen credential to access Okta's support case management system

    > Okta support would ask customers to upload an HTTP Archive (HAR) file, which allows for troubleshooting of issues by replicating browser activity.

    > HAR files can also contain sensitive data, including cookies and session tokens, that malicious actors can use to impersonate valid users.

Yeah my dad decided to ride his bike up a big dang hill when he had COVID. Ended up passing out and wrecking, a neighbor found him and took him home and it was a whole thing. Take it easy!

Last weekend I asked my cousin what he thought of the Onewheel recall. "oh people just don't know how to ride 'em."

He broke his clavicle this morning. Needs surgery. :/

My company just had our Return to Work townhall today. 5x a week no exceptions.

There were literally people in the audience in tears, as they don't know how they'll make it work.

It was probably the worst delivery I've seen from my company. Just a complete lack of empathy to teams that have driven record profitability in recent years.

It honestly made me pretty sad.

This is my sixth company, third of my tech career. I really, really dislike them.

They epitomize the worst of capitalist behaviors. There's never any money for raises (exceptional workers--which the company mandates cannot be more than 10% of any team--get some stock grants that don't vest for 3 years). They constantly ask workers to make sacrifices for the company. We just had our third round of layoffs this calendar year. My team is down from ten to six since January, and they won't approve backfilling, just piling more work on everyone.

Then every quarter we post about record profits and stock prices and blah blah blah. I remember in 2022 when the CEO announced the layoffs and wage freezes and hiring freezes from the cabin of his brand new yacht. He put on a god damn sailor hat to punctuate a joke at one point.

Said CEO rules by fiat, and doesn't even care to listen to reasonable arguments otherwise. I've been in meetings where he straight up told someone to "find a way to make these numbers look good" instead of listening to the message on hand. As another example, when asked live on a call if there was any proof that his RTO policies were improving productivity, he flat out said "I'm going to pretend the question was about creativity instead," and then proceeded to spout a bunch of wishy-washy bullshit. He doesn't care about proof; he just wants to be right all the time.

It should be no surprise that he absolutely refuses to bend on anything. As a result, politics in this company are cutthroat at a level I've never experienced. More effort is spent on finding scapegoats than on actually doing things right, because the CEO has created a culture where it's simply not safe to be wrong. You can't stick out your neck because someone will step on it.

The company exists solely by acquiring other companies and squeezing their products for all they're worth. They haven't produced anything of value internally in, for what I can tell, decades.

You might think I'm talking about Musk, but I'm not. I'm pretty sure our CEO idolizes Musk's style, though. They're cut from the same cloth.

Update on AOC calling out Byron Daniels yesterday for trying to fabricate evidence against Biden, and guess what she was right.
