Klei Entertainment may have only just released Shank 2, but the team is already prepping to release its next 2D action game. Mark of the Ninja is a new game scheduled for a Summer release on Xbox Live Arcade that promises the same sleek 2D presentation of the Shank games, but with a "stealthier new direction."
Whereas Klei's games have previously been multiplatform, a teaser trailer reveals that Microsoft Game Studios is the publisher for Mark of the Ninja. That means this is an Xbox 360 exclusive (for now, at least).

Are you ready to have a Rhythm Party? It will be available on Xbox Live Arcade on February 1st for 800 Microsoft Points ($10). But, what is Rhythm Party?
Rhythm Party is the US-localized version of Boom Boom Dance, a Kinect dancing game originally announced at Tokyo Game Show. Developed by the Dance Masters team, Rhythm Party lets you dance without a pre-recorded routine to follow. You can go crazy with your freestyle moves, so long as you hit target areas for your hands and feet, in time with the beat.

Minecraft's release on Xbox Live Arcade might speed up the patch approval process, in an effort to help it catch up with the PC release. The chief technology officer for 4J Studios, the developer behind the XBLA port, says that it could be the first game on the service to feature constant updates.
"I think we might be the first to do constant updates," 4J's Paddy Burns said.

Puddle took home the Student Showcase prize at the Independent Gaming Festival in 2010. Nearly two years later, it will be available as a fully-realized game for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
You'll take control of various liquids as you try to dodge environmental hazards. You might need to move a virtual puddle of rocket fuel through a blueprint, or control a sip of water as it moves through the human body--liquids are your playthings. The PS3 version will also offer support for motion controls via the PlayStation Move and Sixaxis.

Sometimes, developers run out of time to implement some of their ideas into a video game release. Unfortunately, sometimes developers run out of time to implement some ideas even for DLC. A World of Keflings developer NinjaBee is asking fans to decide what the next add-on for Keflings should be, and is offering a chance to appear in the game as a Kefling as well.
Fans are invited to vote on one of three themes: Graveyard, Candy, or Pirate. "The winning theme will be taken and built into a new kingdom that will be released as an add-on," the announcement says.

VectorCell's horror game, Amy, will break through a window and scare gamers next week on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. In a zombified apocalyptic future, you must hold off a growing infection whilst taking care of a "special little girl."
Amy looks like a game you'd see on retail stores, but publisher Lexis Numerique is releasing the game digitally for $12.99 on PS3 and 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360. (We're not entirely sure why the Xbox 360 version is cheaper.)

Based on its title, you can probably tell that Choplifter HD is an HD remake of something. Not everyone will remember the original Choplifter's release in 1982--but that hasn't stopped developer InXile Entertainment from making an Unreal Engine-based revamp of the game.
Choplifter HD will be available on PC, PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live Arcade next week: January 10 on PC/PS3, and January 11 on Xbox 360. All three versions will be $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points.

Despite the success of indie darling Bastion, a sequel is not in the works. According to Super Giant Games' Greg Kasavin, the developer now has the freedom to self-fund its next project and the team wants to work on something fresh.
"Thankfully Bastion has performed well enough to give us the resources to create another game on our own terms, meaning we can self-fund the project and take the time we need to get it right."

The holiday season is a time for family togetherness, marked by uncomfortable arguments and underlying resentment at the dinner table. If all that ho-ho-holiday cheer puts you in the mood to kill some things, you'll be happy to know that you can potshot some zombies just days after the festivities end. All Zombies Must Die has been scheduled for PlayStation Network on December 27, and Xbox Live Arcade on December 28.

When I first heard of Gotham City Impostors, I wasn't sure what to think. Even casual fans of Batman had to recognize that "madcap multiplayer shooter" are three words that don't belong anywhere near the franchise. I bristled, wondering if Warner Bros was simply attempting to exploit a popular property to help sell an otherwise run-of-the-mill downloadable shooter.
I'm a big enough man to admit when I'm wrong. Though I'm still not sure the Dark Knight motif quite fits, the taste I received during the beta convinced me it's a game that stands on its own merits. Impostors is a wildly fun multiplayer title with a clever idea or two, and personality to spare.

Indie developer Frozenbyte has crafted one of the most beautiful 2D games I have ever seen.
Trine 2's twelve hour quest was likely lengthened by how often I got distracted by that beauty. The level of graphical detail is astounding to see, whether in the forests, swamps, or caverns. Every world I encountered was filled with rich color, vibrant backgrounds, and meticulously-detailed objects from one edge of the screen to the other.

If Tony Hawk's newer games can't get fans excited, perhaps it's time to go back to what made them so popular? Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is an upgraded remix of the first two Tony Hawk games. While the gameplay and tracks should remain largely intact from the PSone originals, one thing is unlikely to survive the transition: the soundtrack.
Activision's Dan Amrich explains that the HD re-release "probably" won't have the original soundtrack, for a myriad of reasons.
