In the future, in the year 2007, cyborg soldiers will be a reality. In Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, you'll play as Sergeant Rex Power Colt, and you'll mow down scientists and infiltrate missile silos with odd sci-fi weapons.
We're still not entirely sure what the connection to Far Cry is; this odd retro-themed spin-off game has us scratching our heads. Perhaps you can look at these leaked screenshots and make sense of it for us.

Why is there a giant rat on the moon in the original DuckTales video game? Heck, how can Scrooge breathe in space? Worry not, as WayForward is answering all your burning questions in its Remastered take.

When Capcom debuted DuckTales Remastered at its PAX East panel, the reaction was palpable. The classic NES game is still held in high regard, and an HD version with the pedigree of developer WayForward behind it seems like a perfect match on paper. But the proof is in the gameplay, and after some time with it at PAX East, I'm convinced that it's on the right track to honor the game's legacy.

Minecraft developer Mojang has a lot of money. With the block-building game selling millions of copies, it's an undeniable success. But, Mojang is ready to make even more money off of its game through two new initiatives. The first is relatively straightforward: an Xbox 360 retail version, giving the game new exposure to gamers that don't always check the Xbox Live Marketplace. The second is far more lucrative: a subscription-based service that could potentially "bring in more money than Minecraft itself."

Matter, Gore Verbinski's planned Kinect game, has been canceled by Microsoft. The game was first showcased during the publisher's E3 keynote last year, and it was quite puzzling. "I feel like Tron and Portal had a baby or something," Insomnaic's James Stevenson said at the unveiling.
"Microsoft Studios is no longer pursuing this title," a company representative told Joystiq. "We have no further details to share at this time." Internet sleuth superannuation discovered that developer Blind Wink laid off staff in August, suggesting that's when the project may have been genuinely canned.

The BIT.TRIP series, from indie developer Gaijin Games, is fondly remembered for bringing a retro aesthetic and nostalgic gameplay style to modern-day players. The series' conclusion looked to be the last players would see of its hero, Commander Video, but you can't keep a good mascot down. Commander Video is back, surprisingly leaving behind the series' hallmark visual style. This change turns out to be for the best, as BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien pushes the series forward, while retaining the mechanics that made the original BIT.TRIP Runner so much fun.
The basic idea for Runner2 is the same as its predecessor. Commander Video treks across 2D courses in an autorunner setting. Players must avoid obstacles by jumping, sliding, and kicking their way through, often to the beat of the background music, until they reach the end goal. Hitting an obstacle takes players back to the previous checkpoint for them to start again, with no lives system in place. It's as simple to pick up and play as the first game, though this is where the similarities end.

Telltale's The Walking Dead takes the dystopian world of the original comic books, and turns it into an active experience--evoking the kind of emotion that can only be possible through games.
Serving as a prequel to the ongoing comic book series from Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead's story begins with a convict named Lee. What he is beyond that opening scene is entirely up to the player. He can be a guy caught in an unfortunate circumstance, a brave leader, an unrepentant jerk, or even a silent protagonist. He's a conduit of player choice.

I've had a rocky history with stealth games. I've tried to make it work, but communication is key in any relationship, and I've found the genre often lacking. The fourth or fifth time I'm spotted by an errant vision cone and summarily gunned down by a guard I never saw, I generally reload, give up the stealthy elements, and fight my way to the end.

Frozenbyte is definitely going to work on a new Trine game in the future. "As for the Trine franchise, it is clearly our most successful," a rep for the developer commented, "making a third installment a no-brainer."
However, the developer doesn't want to rush into a Trine 3, because "we don't want it to feel like Trine 2.5, but rather a large leap and something even more awe-inspiring. So that might take a while."
