Soulcalibur 2 took advantage of the console wars by giving Gamecube, Xbox, and PlayStation 2 players different exclusive characters. So, what characters will the upcoming HD remake for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network feature? Apparently, both Spawn and Heihachi will be available in the arcade re-release--regardless of which platform you play on. "Originally exclusive guest characters for their respective platforms when the game was originally released in 2003, this will be the first time the two characters will be playable together on the same console," Namco Bandai points out in the announcement. Too bad there's no Wii U version, because it would've been nice to see Link make his return to the Soulcalibur universe. Soulcalibur 2 HD Online will be available for download on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network this fall.

Hardly a HD remake.. the game was originally running in HD (720p) on the original xbox! Hope these screens aren't from the "remake" it's the same res and it even lacks texture filtering. Look to tekken dr for a good online remake.

People calling it a remake are using false wording. I don't believe Namco has ever claimed it to be a "remake".

What would be ideal would be to add in a "create a soul" addition. Not only is this currently popular with the online SC community since SCIII, but one could at least use the Link fighting style with their custom character.
