A job posting on Raven Software's official website reveals that the company "is seeking a lead visual effects artist to drive the development of stunning visual effects for an established console-based, realistic, first-person military shooter" (via MCVUK).

Singularity Developer Raven Rumored to be Back on Bond Game

James Bond fan site MI6 reports (via Develop) that the pending approval of movie studio MGM's bankruptcy plan puts Singularity developer Raven Software back on the case for the next Bond game. The developer had been rumored to be working on a Bond game prior to its recent restructuring.

This leak comes close on the heels of Activision's revelation that it plans to "explore options" regarding the future of another of its internal studios, Bizarre Creations. They developed the latest Bond adventure, Blood Stone, only to face potentially being closed weeks after the game's November release. Though this turn of events left the creative direction of the franchise up in the air, Activision's deal for the Bond license runs through 2014, leaving no doubt that there would be more games. Report: Layoffs Hit Raven Software, Focusing on DLC

Shacknews has received information that 20 to 40 employees have been let go from Raven Software, which most recently released Singularity. The studio is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard.

Raven had layoffs in August 2009 after the completion of X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Wolftenstein, explaining that the studio had "slightly [reduced] its workforce to better reflect the studio's upcoming slate." Read more »

Rumor: Raven Working on New Call of Duty

Singularity and Wolfenstein developer Raven Software "may be the latest studio to pick up the Call of Duty slack," according to Kotaku and its "source close to the studio."

Though publisher Activision already has three Call of Duty titles in the works--Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, Sledgehammer's untitled action-adventure entry and, according to court documents, Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3--the company is reportedly "flipping out" about the unfolding situation at series creator Infinity Ward. Raven Working On Singularity

In a press release announcing its upcoming lineup, Activision revealed that Raven Software is working on a first person shooter titled Singularity. No additional details were announced, though the publisher did note the game represented an "all-new wholly owned intellectual property."

The press release also noted this about the untitled new Wolfenstein game, also in development at Raven.
