PlayStation Network unavailable today from 8AM to 9PM

"Routine scheduled maintenance" is about to hit the PlayStation Network, making it unavailable for users for about thirteen hours today.

Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time coming to PSP July 24

Atlus continues showering the PSP with love, even with the Vita launch impending. The company has announced Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time for PSP, which is an updated version of the PS2 game, Growlanser IV.


Sony shuts down Little Deviants, Pursuit Force dev

BigBig Studios, developers of the upcoming Little Deviants for Vita, is being shut down by Sony. The studio developed a number of titles for Sony handhelds before its closure, including the Pursuit Force series on PSP and MotorStorm: Arctic Edge.

PS3 firmware 4.00 limits PSP game installation

Oddly, PS3 firmware 4.00 appears to have removed a key feature for PSP owners. While 4.00 added support for Vita, it appears that some PSP connectivity has been removed--intentionally or not.

UMD Passport program launching in Japan

Want to bring your old PSP games to the Vita? Sony Japan has announced a solution. The "UMD Passport" program will grant gamers access to the PSN versions of their disc-based games... for a fee.

PlayStation activation limited to two devices, beginning November 18th

The days of Game Sharing for PlayStation owners is over. Previously, downloaded content from the PlayStation Store could be shared across five devices. Newly purchased PSN content is being restricted to two machines, not five.
