Having celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee only yesterday here in England, Atlus's announcement that it's bringing "action-RPG brawler" Code of Princess westward for Nintendo 3DS leaves me feeling a little short-changed. Rather than simulating standing po-faced on a boat whilst waving, CoP offers side-scroller beat 'em up shenanigans. Our monarchy is rubbish.

Given that E3 is next week, the lineup of new releases is rather yet, at the same time, surprisingly full. We'll be getting Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Inversion, Dungeonbowl, Bang Bang Racing, and some other odds and ends.

Next week will bring Capcom's curious action-RPG Dragon's Dogma, WW2 sim Iron Front, which is built upon the Arma 2 engine, the PC edition of Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

"Let's kick that ball!" The famous footie chant will once again ring out this fall, as Konami has announced PES 2013. The wholly expected next annual installment in the Pro Evolution Soccer series is, according to Konami, "the most faithful recreation of modern day football to date," though it seems both PES and FIFA toss similar claims about every year.

In ye oldene dayes, if a console game was broken, it was stuck that way forever. Or, in the case of the Nintendo 3DS, in ye moderne dayes too. Not for much longer, though, as the handheld is getting support for game patches in a firmware update this week.
