I've canceled my StarCraft 2 pre-order. It makes me sad Blizzard is take ing this stance on crushing trolls.
I've changed my pre-order over to FFXIV instead. Any other FF Shacker fanboi out there going to join me?

Still, it doesn't take a lot of information to start narrowing things down. I don't have a facebook page. If I did, or if we took that information and started going to other places and looking, what else could you find out about me. How confident could you be that the person whose information you have is indeed me?
I'm not a terribly private person. It may be naivete on my part but I've never been the kind of guy who kept how much he makes a secret if asked. I talk about my experiences pretty freely on the internet, especially if it's something I'm passionate about or I think I could help someone. I also made the mistake of choosing an internet handle early on in my online "career" and Ive stuck with it. And, to the best of my knowledge, I'm still the only AhmNee on the internet. You can google me and find the arguments I've had on forums all over the place. I've never tried having a background check done on myself but I'd be curious if someone could find out my real name from what I have put online.
Combine my real name with my internet name, and I have no doubt you could find out the color of my underwear.
It's highly unlikely that if peoples real names on the Blizz forums happens that the great majority of people will never be inconvenienced by that. Is it really worth getting rid of a few trolls if you put other people's physical, financial, or mental health in danger? And the people in the most danger will be the people who are in the least position to defend themselves.
The net can be a harsh place. Why make the experience any worse or more dangerous for anyone if you can help it?
