I've canceled my StarCraft 2 pre-order. It makes me sad Blizzard is take ing this stance on crushing trolls.
I've changed my pre-order over to FFXIV instead. Any other FF Shacker fanboi out there going to join me?

If someone is searching for your specific information, they don't already have this knowledge. They need additional information to determine it's you and not someone else who shares your name.
Now, having a unique name does make it easier, but people searching you out still have to make sure it's you.
Targeted identify theft from a name alone is not easy -- it's actually a significant amount of work with a fairly low success rate. Not only do you have to tie the name to an individual, but you also have to tie the individual to specific sets of personal information to pull it off. Having an open social networking site makes thing a fair amount easier. Getting lucky and finding some transactions on less-than-secure sites makes it a joke. Those things are somewhat rare, though, and ultimately you're going to have to compromise their machine to get enough information to pull it off or spend a significant amount of time researching the individual (weeks, I think).
In short, to attract this sort of attention, you would have done something to make yourself a target. Pissing off some random stranger on a message board isn't enough.
Now, if you're talking about getting some information to blackmail the individual, determine employer, or something like that -- that's a bit different. However, it still requires you post some collaborating information from a known account so they can figure out who you really are. A name alone isn't enough.
