So now they want to use the unreal engine as a "manual" of sort so that they can create their own engine. If they're going to complain about epic's engine, they should drop the engine altogether and build their own from the ground up. As it stands now, it just sounds like they lacked the ability to use the unreal engine, since it seems like they will continue to use the unreal engine as a "how-to" guide to build their own game engines.
Also note that they seem to defy logic with their claims of "prioritizing" their game over licensee's and that epic tried to avoid their obligations for support. From what I've read, John Carmack states that a significant portion of their money comes from licensing their own engine to other companies. If this is true (and I do believe it), then it should be clearly obvious that epic should have done everything it can to help SK, considering that if SK's game is a smash hit, SK would return for another license. It doesn't make any sense to license your engine to a company (or multiple companies) and then screw them over. Customers make you money; returning customers make you lots of money.
