With all the hubbub going into Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain's arrival on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, PC gamers might have felt left out in the cold. Well, according to the leaked Konami data below, which showed up right before the company's latest livestream, Phantom Pain, along with the previously released Ground Zeroes, will be making their way to steam.

Someone on Konami's web team posted the information below, stating that the games will be coming to the PC front. The company hasn't confirmed any other details yet, nor a release date, but they're likely to come later this week during Gamescom.

Since we don't know when they will release MGS 5 for PC yet, I won't comment on that. However, if you look at the posts above mine, everyone seems happy.

Progressively more insane plot-wise (which I love about them). Gameplay mechanics and controls improve significantly with each release.

MGS1: really good introduction to the series. Do NOT play the Twin Snakes' variant first, as the MGS2 gameplay updates make some areas of MGS1 too easy.

MGS2: solid upgrade in graphics and core gameplay. Then things got weird.

MGS3: much better story than MGS2, stripped weapons and gameplay. Overall, one of my favorites.

MGS4: upgraded graphics (PS3), upgraded gameplay with WAY more replay value. Story had an "end" in sight and it delivers.

Never having played any of them, I've always been under the impression that this is a series that is at least 80% cutscene.

I don't know if that's accurate, but it doesn't really inspire a lot of interest in the series for me. I wonder how they'll do on PC.

MGS1 did have a lot of cutscenes, especially lots of talk over the radio. Still, it was a very good game. PC version was excellent except for one graphical glitch that dropped your FPS to almost zero.

MGS5 isn't out yet, obviously, but the prologue (Ground Zeroes) showed a ton of potential because of the sandbox approach they're taking to the game.

I'm sure they'll be a lot of cutscenes too, but there seems to be quite a lot of meat on that bone.

for MGS1, 2, and 3 (especially 2 and 3) there's a pretty solid core of a game there with a lot of fun/interesting things to do in between the cut scenes. MGS1 and 3 even have pretty decent stories, while MGS2 plays like silly Metal Gear fanfiction.

For MGS4 there's approximately half of a good game and a garbage, eyeroll-inducing plot crafted by somebody that didn't give a shit about anything anymore.

That's not fair to the plot of MGS4. They wanted to write an ending to Solid's story and so they had to tie all the nonsense from before up into a bow. Given how thoroughly crazy the first three games were, I think they did pretty well.

Nonsense. The MGS4 plot is amazing specifically because it managed to make sense of all the weirdness of all the preceding games while at the same time delivering an emotionally impactful conclusion ending to Snake's story.

Considering the various scifi and fantasy elements that had been included in the series before, along with the metafictional plot and ending of MGS2 and it's absolutely amazing it works. But it does work; they pulled it off far better than I ever would have expected.

I just wish they woulda included the original MGS theme. The soundalike was meh and (for me as a huge MGS fan) some of the emotional weight was lost of the story's presentation was lost due to it's absence. Think of how different Act IV would have been without that absolutely harrowing replay of The Best is Yet to Come in the background? My God that was sad.

                  For reals.

I was hoping for a MGS4: Subsandwich or whatever edition that had the fucking theme fixed if nothing else.

You're nuts, MGS4's plot was a pretty damn good wrap up of the entire series. And it was devastatingly sad.

They are fantastic. But just right now accept that the storyline is batshit insane. By 4 it's fucking completely nuts but the magic is that it all comes together so wonderfully and there are countless "Boomer is a Cylon!!!" moments. Personally I feel 3 is the weakest in story and game play but that's a minority opinion most people think it's the best.

Also be advised if you are under any illusion as to hideo Kojimas views on women by 4, then you are going to be blown away by the sheer Japanese sexual dysfunction on display throughout that game. It still irks me. I would hate that game if I wasn't already hopelessly invested in the story.

Since it's 60fps on PS4 I'm still getting that version, but it's super awesome that it is coming out for PC. I full expect cardboard box reskins to be a thing.
