It was first unveiled on Monday's edition of WWE Raw, but now THQ has confirmed WWE '13 is coming out in October with CM Punk on the cover.
It is always entertaining to see pompous WWE exec John Laurinaitis get upstaged. On Monday, he faked the cover of the upcoming WWE '13 with his mug on it, only to have CM Punk come out and reveal that he was actually the new cover wrestler for the next installment of THQ's perennial wrestling title.
This year's iteration takes players back to the Stone Cold Steve Austin Attitude Era for the single-player campaign, while still retaining most of the current roster of WWE Superstars, including Sheamus, Undertaker, Mark Henry and Big Show.

"WWE '13 is certain to ignite our enthusiastic, worldwide fan base and encourage them to live a revolution that simply cannot be ignored," Sean Ratcliffe, THQ's VP of Global Brand Management, said in the release. Many of the features that fans of the series have come to expect will return, including customization of wrestlers, entrances and finishing moves.
The game is in development for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii and is scheduled for release on Oct. 30.
