Top of the morning Shackers, are you ready for another exciting Thursday? Now I know many of you are likely sitting at home, excited over Soul Calibur 4 yet thinking that it needs a little green alien. Fortunately, Namco and Lucasart agree. At this point, I'd make a sarcastic remark but have a TSA-esque fear of them taking it seriously. I think the only surreal appropriate course of action would be to note that Nick has brought us the Shacknews CES 2008 Chair of the Year awards.

      Yoda I can see, but Vader? His fighting style (robotic quadruple amputee) doesn't seem to fit the game.

          Maybe he just fucks your shit up with the Force, like that one psychic thing from that other game (sorry I am drawing a blank, but I seem to remember a weird gimmicky character like this).

            Vader was supposed to be an incredible swordsman. It talks about the training he does in Shadows of the Empire.

      It is an ....odd choice I must say. Star Wars has a big enough universe to actually make their own fighting game, but the money hats the soul calibur team was willing to offer must have been great.

      I hope when your Yoda you can hop around crazily like he does in the movies.

        There was a SW fighter for the Playstation. Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi. It was a decent game overall, with some play elements I really liked, but they slacked on a lot of shit that they shouldn't have.

      I think the problem is you only have one char per console, so the xbox gets yoda and the ps3 gets vader.... but surely the fight everyone wants to do is yoda vs vader :(

        Yup that's the worst part. Does make even less sense this way. Especially because I wanted Vader not Yoda :( ... and Luke for the ultimate match.

      I was going to say that Namco should just make a Star Wars fighter but then I realized there aren't enough Jedi/Sith to fill the roster. Sure they could include all those lame background characters from Episode 2 but who really wants to play as them.

        Honestly, I've played a lot of weapon based fighters, and let's be honest here: Not one of the weapons in these games is more deadly than a wooden stick.

        Kilik's stick is long, Nightmare's stick has an eye. Vader's stick glows in the dark..
