August’s PlayStation Plus collection closed out the summer with a splash. September’s collection of games gives some love to PS VR owners, sparks the shift into Halloween, and breaths new life into one of the PS4’s better launch exclusives.

There a couple significant highlights in Sony's blog post this week and, first up, Sony is celebrating their recent price drop of PS VR by giving US and Canada players a free copy of RIGS Mechanized Combat League. In January of this year, the dev team that created the game was shuttered but it still stands as one of the better multiplayer experiences for PlayStation VR.

Another bonus this month is limited free access to Dead by Daylight, a great way to pivot into the upcoming Halloween season. Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multi player horror game where you play as either the survivors or the killer and it will be free to PS Plus users from September 15 to September 18. After that, the game will be available at a 30% discount until September 22. The full lineup of September’s PlayStation Plus free games is as follows:

  • inFamous: Second Son, PS4
  • RIGS Mechanized Combat League, PS VR
  • Strike Vector Ex, PS4
  • Monster Jam Battlegrounds, PS3
  • Hustle Kings, PS3
  • Hue, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4)
  • Sky Force Anniversary, PS Vita (Cross Buy with PS4 & PS3)

PS Plus members that are playing MMO Neverwinter will be able to grab a Plus pack in celebration of the new Tomb of Annihilation update. It will be available from September 19 to October 16. Party game That’s You! will also be available until October 23. Players in Europe will get to play Child of Light, Hatoful Boyfriend, Truck Racer, We Are Doomed, and Handball 2016 instead of Strike Vector Ex, Monster Jam Battlegrounds, Hustle Kings, Hue, and Sky Force Anniversary.

There’s still time to grab the free Plus games from August, including Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry and Just Cause 3. Don’t miss out on the chance to add some solid games to your library.
