Zen Pinball 2 missed its 2012 launch and has been delayed into sometime this month, according to Zen Studios.

Free-to-play pinball game Zen Pinball 2 is coming to the Wii U eShop later this month, developer Zen Studios has announced.

Zen Pinball 2 will release on PlayStation 3 and Vita on September 4, as a free update to the original. A new table modeled after a PopCap game will also be offered.

The optimal time to release Avengers-themed pinball tables may have passed, but surely enough of you remember that bit with Hulk and Loki, yeah, to still want to play the Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles DLC when it launches next week at $10.

Marvel Pinball is coming to the 3DS eShop this summer for $7.99.

Zen Pinball 2 promises to offer pinball action at home and on the go, with a single purchase unlocking both handheld and console versions of the game. ZP2 will also (predictably) offer a huge library of DLC, which will be transferable across both PlayStation devices.

A sequel for Zen's comics-based flip 'em up has been announced, along with PC, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, iOS devices and Android versions of the original.
