Yakuza: Restoration coming to PS4 and PS3

Sega is working on yet another Yakuza game. And once again, it'll be a PlayStation exclusive. Yakuza Ishin (Restoration) will be coming to both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in time for the Japanese launch of the PS4: February 22, 2014. While no US release has been announced yet, series director Toshihiro Nagoshi did note a desire to expand the franchise's audience with this early 1900s spin-off.

PS4-Vita cross-play was also pointed out as a feature for the upcoming title, although it's unclear if there will be any more to it than the system-standard Remote Play. Check out the trailer below:

Yakuza: Dead Souls coming to US in March 2012

Yakuza: Of the End, the surreal undead spin-off of Japanese gangster series Yakuza, will indeed be coming to North America, developer and publisher Sega announced today. Localized as Yakuza: Dead Souls, it's headed to PlayStation 3s across the western world in March 2012.

Yakuza: Dead Souls bizarrely shakes up the notoriously plodding series with an undead invasion, turning zombies and mutants loose in the fictional Tokyo district of Kamurocho.

Yakuza: Dead Souls trademarked

It appears Sega is planning on localizing yet another Yakuza game for Western audiences. Yakuza: Dead Souls has been unearthed as a trademark in the European Union.

Based on the name, Dead Souls is likely the localized name for the last game in the series released in Japan so far, Yakuza: Of the Dead. Like its predecessors, it's exclusive to PS3. It breaks the mold of the previous games, adding ever-popular zombies into the popular Japanese action series.
