Consider this thought for a moment: Couch co-op is not really a priority on the Xbox and the PlayStation. Oh, Microsoft has been pushing Dance Central, and Rock Band was a thing a few years back, but those are relatively isolated cases. Nintendo, however, values its relative monopoly on living room multiplayer, and their priorities are more evident than ever on the Wii U.
Just look at the system's controller--ostensibly the system's main selling point. Though it has plenty of other functions, the point of the Wii U's touchscreen is to introduce a new dynamic to party games and the like, which thrive on local multiplayer. Nintendo's bread and butter continues to be kids and families, and with their new controller, they appear to be hoping their unique brand of multiplayer will differentiate themselves from the Kinects and the iPads that have invaded living rooms around the world. All of which adds an interesting dynamic to Rabbids Land--the latest in Ubisoft's vulgar (but amusing) party series.

When there's an international incident afoot, it's nice to have a team handy that can clean it up with discretion. The crack squad of operatives to whom such tasks fall and their missions have defined Ghost Recon games. After numerous delays the latest installment, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, is finally ready to deploy. It upholds the tradition well with strong catch-the-enemy-off-guard stealth mechanics, fun tech to play with, and a solid set of new features.

Nearly four minutes of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier sneaking fun are on show in a new trailer. In this questionable vision of the near-future, you'll see how handy a stealth suit is, uses of mini-drones, augmented reality, and some jolly nice weapon customisation.

Ubisoft is bringing back their bizarre bunny mascots again, with Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking for Kinect. The game uses augmented reality for its mini-games, and we saw two examples.
In the first, we saw a demonstration of stomping on the rabbids' heads like you know you've always wanted to. In the second, a group of players made shapes with their body to fill in a shape, and the Kinect snapped a picture that can be shared on Facebook. Read more »
