We haven't heard a peep from Ubisoft on Rainbow 6 Patriots in a while, and a recent move from a retailer has raised further questions about the game's fate. GameStop has reportedly pulled the game from its database, and a source claims those in charge "actively flipped a switch" rather than any kind of automated time-based removal.
The Rainbow 6 Patriots team has taken a cue from its namesake and gone dark over the last several months, leading us to wonder if the project had been quietly killed. According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, though, the game is still in development and may make the jump to next-gen systems.
Ghost Recon: Commander, an isometric Facebook tactics game from industry heavyweights John Romero and Brenda Brathwaite, has been scuttled. As a result, developer Loot Drop laid off the staff behind the game. The title connected with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and even won an award recently, but apparently failed to gain a sustainable audience.
Today's Artic Strike map pack for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier comes with a surprise for PC players. The game is introducing a "Season Pass" model to get all of the downloadable content for a discount, months after the packs started hitting the console versions (sans Season Pass).
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is getting another downloadable content pack, titled "Raven Strike." It will add three new campaign missions and another Guerrilla Mode map, all available for up to four players. It's due on September 11 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, for $14.99. The PC version will come some time later.
