Pokemon X & Y makes raising Pokemon easier because of the Internet

Pokemon X & Y makes raising Pokemon easier because of the Internet

Pokemon X and Y released over the weekend and it's pretty fantastic. It's also become easier and less time-consuming to raise Pokemon than in previous generations. The reason for that, according to Game Freak director Junichi Masuda, is that the smartphone generation simply can't devote as much time to raising Pokemon.

"Mega" forms will not only have new abilities, but may also feature different elemental types. For example, Ampharos turns into an Electric/Dragon type after Mega-evolving.

Pokemon X and Y getting new friend system, tons of tweaks

Pokemon X and Y getting new friend system, tons of tweaks

Pokemon has been one of the Nintendo's slowest-evolving franchises, ironic given what the series is about. The company hews closely to tradition, building a devoted fanbase, and constantly inviting a new generation of players to take up their own mantle as Pokemon trainers. At an E3 panel last night, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company revealed how it plans to pack new features into Pokemon X and Y without jostling the formula too severely.
