2K Sports scrubs MLB 2K from existence

2K Sports' run with the Major League Baseball license has come to a rather unceremonious end. After last year's abysmally-rated foul ball known as MLB 2K13, the publisher's license expired and all connections between the two parties have been severed completely.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified review: potential unknown

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified review: potential unknown

It's clear that The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is the end result of years of troubled development and countless reboots. The end result is a game that admirably attempts to mix third-person cover shooting with XCOM-inspired tactics. However, 2K Marin isn't quite able to deliver.

Forget the modern-day setting of Firxaxis' Enemy Unknown; The Bureau takes players back to the Cold War. The story sees frontman William Carter caught in the middle of an alien invasion as he bunkers down with what's left of the U.S. military, as they form the titular Bureau. 2K Marin admirably captures the spirit of the 60s: picket fences, radio broadcasts, and even grizzled fedora-wearing protagonist. It's a world that I was eager to dive into.

You can play Civilization 5 as Beavis & Butthead

You can play Civilization 5 as Beavis & Butthead

Mod support in PC games is common for adding things like user interface tweaks or weapons and armor. In a game like Civilization 5, which is all about the methodical building of society itself, mods can get a little wild. Like putting your nation-state in the hands of two cartoon idiots, for example.

WWE 2K14 had 'seamless transition' from THQ to 2K, dev says

WWE 2K14 had 'seamless transition' from THQ to 2K, dev says

After publisher THQ imploded late last year and assets were sold off, Take-Two was able to pick up the WWE franchise in a separate purchase. The move allowed the series a smooth transition to the new publisher, making it easier for WWE 2K14 to enter the ring this year.

"Amazingly enough, we worked throughout that whole time," said franchise creative director Cory Ledesma, who came to 2K Sports from THQ with most of the WWE team. "I think maybe we were only down half a day as we moved offices, or something like that; it was a really, really seamless transition."

WWE 2K14 unveils The Rock as cover guy

It's a testament to Civilization 5's thoughtful, historically-based gameplay that the addition of international trade routes is a major pillar of the upcoming Brave New World expansion. Firaxis has talked quite a bit about the new ideology and cultures, so it's time for trade to have its day in the sun.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified video looks at agency's origin, tactics

XCOM: Enemy Unknown built on the premise of a modern day UFO agency designed to hunt down and eliminate alien threats. But a new video for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified delves into how developer 2K Marin envisioned the creation of that clandestine organization back in the 1960s.
