Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Vita review

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Vita review

Capcom proved a console-quality fighter could be pulled off on a portable with Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition on Nintendo's rival handheld. With Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) arriving on the PlayStation Vita, it faces the challenge of standing out amongst Sony's strong day-one offerings. Despite the stout competition, UMvC3 reinforces the fact that players don't need a big screen and a fight stick to brawl with the big boys.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 costumes delayed, Magneto pulled

The Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Ancient Warrior costume pack, scheduled to release today, has been delayed all the way to March 6. What's more, it will lack the Magneto skin, for one of the oddest reasons we've heard for a piece of pulled content: Capcom wants to avoid royal controversy in Spain.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Vita functions as PS3 controller

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Vita functions as PS3 controller

The Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 will let the handheld act as a controller for the PlayStation 3 version, offering a taste of how Sony could use its devices respond to the upcoming Wii U. Capcom calls it the "ultimate controller" for the game. Considering the touch controls include shortcuts for Hyper Combos and the like, it does seem like that would grant a tactical advantage.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 timing due to licensing

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 timing due to licensing

Capcom is notorious for frequently turning around upgraded re-releases of its games. This is the company that published Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012, and two versions of Dead Rising 2, after all. But Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3's quick release, coming less than a year after its predecessor, is due to licensing issues.

Galactus playable in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Galactus playable in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Galactus is the ridiculously overpowered final boss of Marvel vs Capcom 3. For its Ultimate version, Capcom has announced that the boss will be a playable character at a panel at New York Comic Con.

No, you won't be able to play with him in a standard match. Instead, he'll be relegated to his "own little mode" where you can pick on the various Marvel and Capcom heroes. Sometimes, you need to vent by wrecking havoc on the good guys, right?
