Lionhead working on unannounced, non-Fable project

Slowly but surely, Lionhead has become something of a Fable factory for Microsoft. It's recently been working on two titles in the franchise, Fable Legends and the soon-to-be-released Fable Anniversary. It isn't all fart humor and swordplay, though, and the studio is currently turning its talents towards something else.

Fable Legends planning 5-10 year lifespan

Between its always-online status and party mechanics, Fable Legends seems to share more in common with an MMO than the series' action-adventure games. That shift goes for its lifespan too, according to Lionhead's John Needham.

Surprise! Lionhead is working on a new Fable game for Xbox One.

Fable Legends will have players return to Albion, 400 years before the events of the first Fable game on Xbox. As with other first-party games on the system, SmartGlass will play a role, as well.

Fable Anniversary holding fan achievement contest

Fable Anniversary holding fan achievement contest

Fable Anniversary is putting a fresh coat of paint on the original Fable. Sadly, when the first game was released, "Achievements" weren't even a thing yet. I know, it's hard to imagine! So as part of its modernizing, Lionhead is coming up with new achievements, and inviting players to make one up themselves.

Milo & Kate could have been finished with six months of production

Milo & Kate could have been finished with six months of production

Remember Milo & Kate, Peter Molyneux's Kinect-powered boy-simulator? The game that we simply weren't "ready" for according to Molyneux, who quit Lionhead after the game's cancellation? Ever since its curious (and suspicious) E3 debut, many had wondered: was it ever a real game?

"I don't think we knew, to be honest," creative director Gary Carr said. "I'd describe Milo & Kate as a development experiment that somehow found itself in full production," another team member added.

Fable: The Journey demo now available on Xbox Live

Fable: The Journey demo now available on Xbox Live

Do you want an early peek at the next big Fable game? Then, pop onto Xbox Live Marketplace and download the demo for Fable: The Journey. Do note: you will need an Xbox Live Gold account and a Kinect sensor.

Why, you ask? In case you haven't been following our coverage, The Journey is a Kinect-exclusive entry into the Fable franchise. While sitting down, you'll be able to swing your arms wildly to conjure and aim spells, and even go first-person horseback riding. I rather liked it at E3, so why not give it a try?
