Epic lands Tencent investment

Colossal Chinese Internet company Tencent is picking up a minority stake in Epic Games, giving the Gears of War developer and Unreal Engine maker a cash injection. They're quiet on how big the investment was and how big a stake Epic gave away.

Unreal Engine 4 videos show off tech demos

As promised, at E3 Epic properly lifted the wraps off its next-generation engine, Unreal Engine 4. While the real-time cinematic teased before is jolly nice and all, the real highlight is a good long look at the tech and tools themselves.

Gears of War: Judgement formally announced with E3 trailer

Epic has whispered and muttered about a new Gears of War over the past few days, but Gears of War: Judgement was only formally unveiled during Microsoft's presentation at E3 today. The trailer confirmed that yes, Baird and Cole Train will be shooting guns a lot.
