Thief 4 seems to be utilizing some form of online features, if the CVs of some Eidos Montreal employees are any indication. If these early hints are true, Thief 4 will be the first game in the series to go online. Details are scant, and online features haven't been officially announced. However, given the proliferation of online passes and DLC, it seems like a reasonable expectation these days.

You can't resurrect a widely-adored classic franchise a decade later, common wisdom goes. The game lives in nostalgia now; you can never come close to matching recollections and expectations. Besides, games have moved on. If you change nothing it will feel dated, but any changes will ruin what fans loved. And if it's being made by different people, well, that really won't work. Somehow, developers Eidos Montreal and Nixxes Software didn't succumb to its doomed fate: Deus Ex: Human Revolution recaptures much of the essence of the original, while updating it for modern audiences.

Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has reportedly said that Deus Ex has become a core intellectual property (IP) for the company, promising the franchise will continue.
Wada reportedly made the comments during a financial briefing earlier today, where he outlined the company is aiming to establish "ten IPs" that are capable of making "a continuous profit contribution" to the company.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution producer David Anfossi has admitted that the boss sequences in the Eidos Montreal-developed title were a misstep, noting: "We knew that would be a weakness for the game."
Eidos Montreal outsourced the boss battles to crowd AI specialist Grip Entertainment; however, Anfossi says blame for the issues surrounding sequences should be put on Eidos Montreal alone.

Arranging "close to 200 pieces of music," Deus Ex: Human Revolution composer Michael McCann has paired down his work on the title into a 25 track soundtrack, available on November 15.
The soundtrack will be available as a digital download on iTunes and Amazon and in physical media form from Sumthing Else Music Works worldwide.

As promised, Deus Ex: Human Revolution's first downloadable add-on is coming later this month. Developer Eidos Montreal announced a date and price today. "The Missing Link" will be available on October 18th for $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft Points. And, although a Mac version of the game is coming soon, the DLC will not be ready for that platform until a later date.

There's an estimated five hours of new Deus Ex: Human Revolution content coming this month in the downloadable content 'The Missing Link,' though if publisher Square Enix keeps releasing five-minute chunks in trailers there may not be too many surprises left. Still, if you love sneak-peaks, here's another narrated gameplay walkthrough for the DLC.

As mentioned in our preview that launched earlier today, developer Eidos Montreal is putting the finishing touches on the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution downloadable content 'The Missing Link.' Scheduled to launch sometime in October, the DLC will take place during a three-day span missing from the life of protagonist Adam Jensen during the main campaign of the game.
Edios Montreal game designer Antoine Thisdale visited the Shacknews office to discuss some of the changes made for 'The Missing Link,' the corporate culture at the Montreal studio, and more.

Late in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, protagonist Adam Jensen goes dark, leaving the player to wonder what happened to the gritty-voiced hero. Eidos Montreal's upcoming DLC for the game, The Missing Link, looks to fill in the blanks, as it takes place during that missing fragment of Jensen's life.
According to Eidos Montreal game designer Antoine Thisdale, The Missing Link will last for up to five hours. (Of course, the content's length is based on your play style and skill level.) My preview of the content showed off about half of what the full expansion is supposed to offer.
