Adding online co-op in paid DLC for a $10 downloadable game over two years after it launched is a curious move, but who can grumble when we'll get to beat up baddies with our chums in the charming Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? The multiplayer DLC is now slated to launch next week, on Xbox 360 at least, priced at $2 (160 MS Points).

Free DLC is coming to Might and Delight's gorgeous puzzle-platformer Pid in the form of Challenge Rooms. Expect misery, woe, and abstract challenge from the new levels, which have a curious retro style, like a painterly VVVVVV.

Defense Grid: The Awakening developer Hidden Path may have fell short of its Kickstarter dream of funding a sequel to the tower defense, but it did raise enough money to make new DLC. That expansion, Containment, is out now on PC for $4.99, bringing eight new maps with a new story, including voicework from Firefly’s Alan Tudyk.

Look, we really liked DmC: Devil May Cry. But if the only thing holding you back from playing Ninja Theory's reboot is Dante's new look, then perhaps this DLC will make you reconsider.
A new costume pack will be available as DLC for PS3 and Xbox 360 on January 29th. Included in the add-on are three costumes: "Classic," taken from Devil May Cry 3, "Dark," and "Neo." You'll have to shell out $4 (320 Microsoft Points) for this bundle.

The first batch of DLC for PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale is coming February 12th. The initial add-on will expand the roster by two, and will introduce a brand new stage.
As previously reported, the DLC adds two combatants: Gravity Rush's Kat and Starhawk's Emmett. Kat can bend gravity to allow her to dash, slide, and fly from one place to another. Emmett offers “Build & Battle” gameplay from Starhawk, calling down different structures to aid him in battle.

The Angry Birds Trilogy compiles the original Angry Birds, Seasons, and Rio together, but left out some of the mobile game stages to make room for downloadable content. LittleBigPlanet 2 continues to get less little. Sony's platformer is getting yet another significant expansion next week: the Cross-Controller Pack, which introduces Wii U-esque gameplay via Vita.
With the Cross-Controller feature, you'll be able to take advantage of all sorts of second screen gameplay. The DLC will be available next week for $4.99 and requires a PS3, a PS Vita, and a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2. (Don't worry, you don't need a copy of LittleBigPlanet Vita.)

Here in modern times, we have realized that the best way to release DLC is to stagger it in multiple tiers according to platform, premium membership, eye color, and name. So, Xbox 360 owners of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with a DLC season pass, you may now download the Nuketown Zombies map, provided you also have hazel eyes and are named June.

When I initially played the previous downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, nothing seemed amiss. The handful of new areas and pieces of loot littered around the familiar landscape were what I had come to expect from DLC. But now that I've played the "Dragonborn" expansion, the others simply pale in comparison. It's more ambitious, more thematically relevant, and a perfect example of Bethesda's promise to take its time with fully-featured content.

When the world as we know it ends on December 21, the survivors will need to find a way to live with their new cruel, hard, miserable existence. Fortunately, we already have a fine cruelty simulator in Trials Evolution, and RedLynx is releasing new DLC later this month to add a post-apocalyptic spin, named Riders of Doom.

Throughout my return to this den of inequities, I couldn't shake the feeling as I played through Mass Effect 3's new Omega DLC that what I was doing didn't matter. I've already saved the universe and dealt with the consequences of all that entails, so everything on the spire-like trading hub of Omega felt superfluous. It seems the designers felt the same way, too, because anything new was either negated by the time I reached the anticlimactic final showdown or wasn't very important to begin with. I leveled up a few times and maxed out my sticky grenade skill by mission's end, but because I have no intention of returning to Earth again with this save file, having asari crime boss Aria T'loak's war assets at my disposal didn't mean all that much.
